Specialized scientist at CLPU

27 Mar , 2025 - Careers

Deadline: 05 April 2025

Job description:

The main functions associated with the job position are related to the design, modelling, construction, and commissioning of a plasma discharge capillary suitable for “wakefield” acceleration and particle manipulation. Specifically:

  • Develop, within the framework of the project collaboration, a set of tools for the hydrodynamic modeling and simulation of plasmas relevant to the project, with a particular focus on the design of plasmas generated by electric discharges, in addition to utilizing existing software for these simulations.
  • Analyze the fluid dynamics of “cell/capillary” gas systems and apply CFD software for simulations of neutral fluids relevant to the project.
  • Model the physics of plasmas and accelerators in the relevant regimes for the project, including the kinematic description of plasmas and the use of PIC simulation codes to replicate the conditions for particle acceleration and manipulation in plasmas relevant to the project.
  • Collaborate with members of the scientific area in the development of experiments associated with the project.

·         Collaborate in the designs and setups of the prototypes that will be used in the campaigns, including the high- voltage electrical circuits required.

  •  Participate in the analysis of the obtained data, and prepare the required numerical methodology for it.
  •  Ensure the integrity of the data and the definition and recording of metadata that allow its use even by third parties not related to the activity.
  • Development of scientific-technical documentation within the framework of the project.
  • Participate in the drafting and preparation of future experimental campaigns in relation to the project’s objectives.
  • Prepare and elaborate scientific publications and presentations to congresses within the framework of the project.
  • Any other task for which, being qualified, may be entrusted in the scope of the project functions.
